The Home of Peace

by Tomás Meyers

Peace needs meeting places,

where people greet each other

with shared discovery,

and replace belief in separation

with honorable relationships

and non-invasive words

which complete the circle of creation,

so we may live in blissful co-existence.

Let us dedicate our higher powers

to the source of mystery which is a constantly renewable resource,

and replenish famished worth

with enhanced esteem.

Soon we will release resistance to quietude,

and find persistent order in the universe,

amidst the silence of infinitude.

Be still, my mind,

so both student and teacher are equally revered

and mutual revelation can appear

to ease the plight of human kind.

In this view, peacefulness and loving kindness intertwine,

and we can summon them at any time

without numb submission to our doubts.

We become the thing we choose,

and may bring new life to the old.

We need not lose our cherished

future generations’ heritage,

so we venerate each moments’s gift,

and return to nurture to the earth.
