We gather to remember and celebrate that:
We belong to the earth that nurtures
and grows our bodies.
We belong to the waters that flow
through our hearts and veins.
We belong to the fire that sparks
in the synapsis of brains.
We belong to the air which enlivens
the breath that we are.
We belong to the unseen divine spirit
that weaves us into the fabric of unity
And yet, as human beings we may feel isolated, lonely and abandoned, often having a sense that we don’t belong in this world.
Together, we welcome our longing to simply be present and real with one another in an atmosphere of nurturance, gentleness and loving kindness. We will explore what arises from within and follow the inspiration that guides us to say yes to who we are as full unique beings that become intimately connected to the flower of sacred belonging.
The Beautiful Names within the Sufi pathway provide an ecology of contemplation and discovery of our human self and divine soul that enables us to cultivate a responsible relationship with the world and the reality of the Haven of Belonging.
Tara Andrea and Maboud will guide us in this endeavor through the wasifa-inspired body prayers, and embodiment-centered meditations. There will be contemplative time in nature, and sharing our individual journey in a circle of belonging.
